LISSA Updates!

Hello Everyone!

First of all, let me apologize. We will have to cancel the LISSA meeting that was scheduled for tomorrow. We will be rescheduling this meeting for Thursday, December 2nd.

Secondly, however, I would like to remind everyone about our previously mentioned mentor event taking place this Friday! The event will be held at 7:00pm in the LIS Lounge on the third floor of Curry. We will have two guests who will be there to socialize and discuss their experiences in finding a job and in their first years as a professional.

Please let me know if you have any questions!

Last Minute Info About Trip to North Carolina Museum of Art Tomorrow

Tomorrow, Saturday, November 6, LISSA will be taking a trip to Raleigh to visit the North Carolina Museum of Art.  At the museum, we will meet the librarian at 10am to visit the librarian and hear about the function of the museum library and the museum in general.  At noon, we will meet with a museum docent who will give us a tour of the museum.

As previously stated, we will be meeting at UNCG at 7:45 am and departing at 8 am.  Please park in the South 7 lot, where carpools will be arranged.  Please be aware that the parking directly behind the Weatherspoon Art Museum is restricted.  You will need to be in the lot between Tate St. and Highland Ave. that borders Oakland Ave.  I will be parked at the top of this lot near Highland Ave., behind the Studio Arts building. You can see a campus parking map here: http://parking.uncg.edu/2010parkingmap.pdf.

If you wish to meet us at the museum in Raleigh, please arrive shortly before 10 am.  The museum is located at: 2110 Blue Ridge Road Raleigh, NC 27607.  My instructions from the librarian are as follows:

“When you park (either in the lot closest to Blue Ridge or behind the new museum), please come to the doors of the older building (you can’t miss it, it’s a brown brick building). Doors should open at 10:00 am, since there will be activities in this building.  I will be in the entrance foyer to meet you.”

If you wish to see more information about the museum, you may visit their website here: http://www.ncartmuseum.org/.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Sarah
